Surface water quality models are critically important tools for managing our nation's surface waters. EPA's Water Modeling Workgroup (WMW) works to facilitate the use of surface water quality models through collaboration, information sharing, and training on models and modeling resources.

VELMA (Visualizing Ecosystem Land Management Assessments) is a tool designed to model effective decisions for a wide array of environmental issues. It is a spatially explicit ecohydrological watershed model that planners can use to visualize the effects of their decisions.
